The Stone Tape Theory

Stone Tape Theory is a psychological horror film

It follows paranormal investigators Heather and Sam, who enter the notorious "Summers" House to film an episode of their ghost-hunting show Winter’s Whispers.

They are never seen again.

Years later, filmmaker Dominique Quinn discovers the lost Winters Whispers footage and begins piecing together what happened that night. As she digs deeper, the line between past and present starts to blur.

Stone Tape Theory splices together the immediacy of found footage horror with the slow-burn atmosphere of a haunted house story.

It’s about trauma and obsession, because some places hold onto pain.

This story was inspired by a real place: my basement

When I moved into a new home, I found this creepy basement with what looked like blood stains on the floor. It was so eerie and strange that it sent my imagination racing. That space became the main setting for the film, and the idea started to take shape from there.

The script was written in two weeks, cast two weeks later with cameras rolling two weeks after that.  In this incredibly short period of time a group of filmmakers banded together to create a micro-budget horror film packed with all the things they love about horror films.

So much of this project comes from personal experience and genuine inspiration. It’s not just a film—it’s something we felt compelled to make.

Your support really matters

Every independent film needs an audience—and I’d really love to build one as this project comes to life.

Having people behind this movie would mean the world to me. It’s not just about funding (though that absolutely helps); it’s about momentum, encouragement, and sharing the journey with others who care about horror films.

If you love horror, if you believe in indie filmmaking, or if you're just curious to see how this all comes together—I am incredibly grateful to have you here.

As I’ve worked on this project, I’ve realised that the real magic isn’t just in the film itself—it’s in the connections, the shared stories, and the people who come together around a love for the eerie and the unexplained. The love of horror storytelling.

To build on that, I have launched a podcast alongside the film. It features behind-the-scenes updates as we move through post-production - but it also spotlights real ghost stories from supporters and listeners.

Strange encounters, family legends, haunted houses... I want to hear them all, and share them.

Stone Tape Theory  is more than just a film—it’s the start of a community built on curiosity, creativity, and a shared fascination with the unknown.

Thank you for being here and being part of it, Ben.
